Planning Shabbat in Las Vegas

Book around the congregation and meals you will use. A hotel that works for a weekday visit may make a Shabbat stay much harder.

Choose the congregation first

Contact your chosen congregation with your dates and ask about guest arrangements, service times and meals. Check the exact walking route to your accommodation before booking. A short map distance alone does not establish eruv coverage or a suitable walking route.

Chabad of Southern Nevada publishes accommodation guidance and describes lodging on its property. Ask the organization directly about availability and the arrangements that matter for your stay.

Confirm the hotel details that affect your stay

Ask the hotel about room access, stairs, refrigeration, outside food and any relevant building procedures. Ask your rabbi which arrangements meet your needs. Do this before paying for a room because hotel facilities and policies differ.

Arrange food in advance and separate Friday dinner, Shabbat lunch and other meals in your order. Confirm the delivery or pickup window, storage needs, packaging and what is included.

Keep your Friday plan simple

Allow time for shopping, pickup and check-in before your local candle-lighting deadline. Get that week’s times and any eruv update from the local congregation. This guide intentionally does not publish a recurring fixed time that could be mistaken for the coming Friday.
